On 16th September 7802 Bradley Manor made a rare outing onto the mainline and and even rarer trip down the Cambrian Mainline to Aberystwyth. Once the stamping ground of the Class, visits are becoming increasingly rare and are threatened with dissapearing all together due to gauge issuses.
The Cambrain Coast Express tour had originated at Leicester and was worked by West Coast Railway Company Class 47 47245 to Shrewsbury, where Severn Valley Railway based Manor 7802 took over for the run to Aberystwyth and back. The 47 took over the train again at Shrewsbury.
I was on my way home from the FR, and as Shrewsbury was on the way, stopped off to take some photographs. |
